How We Work

Why Fixed Fee?

Fixed fees allow both the predicable costs and personalized service that small businesses need. Included within each agreement is one-on-one time with a licensed attorney, deliverables tailored to your specific needs, and the ability to ask as many questions as you need along the way.

  • Free Consultation

    We will send you a link to book a Zoom call or in-office visit (if you prefer). No meter running, just a straightforward conversation with a licensed attorney providing clear answers.

  • Scope of Work

    Based on our consultation, we will create an agreement listing the work we will do, fixed prices, and estimated expenses. A list of common fixed prices is available on our pricing page.

  • Initial Payment

    Once the agreement is signed, the fixed fee will be due in full or part depending on the cost of the project. We accept payment online via credit card or eCheck.

  • Delivery

    Once the initial payment is made, we get to work. If we need any additional information, we will contact you along the way. As soon as your work is done, we will send it to you for review.

  • Review

    When we send your work for review, we will include a link to book a follow up Zoom call to answer any questions or discuss any changes (included in the fixed fee).

  • Revisions

    If it's within the scope we agreed on, we'll fine-tune it until it's right. We want to ensure the final product meets your needs.

  • Final Payment

    Once we've successfully delivered the services and any necessary adjustments within scope, we bill the remainder of the fixed fee (if any).

Why Hourly?

Some work will have unpredictable timelines and milestones and cant be captured as fixed price projects. In these cases, we may choose to have all or part of an engagement billed under the hourly model.

  • Define Objectives

    Based on our consultation, we will clearly define an achievable objective and send an agreement listing the hourly rates. Our current hourly rates are listed on the pricing page.

  • Retainer & Budget

    Included within the agreement will be a project budget and the initial retainer amount. The retainer will be held in escrow for payment of the services billed. Any unused money will be returned at the end of the project.

  • Milestones

    Once the retainer deposit is made, we get to work. As your project progresses, we schedule regular check-ins with you to ensure we are staying within budget and working towards your objectives.

  • Resolution

    You are always in control as your project evolves. Along the way, we will continue to provide advice and guide you towards a successful outcome.

Why Subscription?

Growing and scaling a small businesses requires continual access and shifting deliverables while maintaining a predictable budget month-after-month. Clients choosing a subscription model receive priority access and included deliverables without additional fixed costs or hourly charges.

  • Monthly Billing

    Based on your needs, we will establish a subscription level that is right for you. We ask for a one year initial commitment and can bill monthly or annually based on your needs.

  • Document Generation

    We onboard or create all of your core legal documents, and work with you to define workflows to take the legal work off your plate.

  • Contact & Access

    You will receive priority access to a licensed attorney through email, client portal, and Zoom meetings for project consultation, advice, and emergencies.
